Care & Warranty
General Care Instructions
- Remove your jewellery before engaging in physical activities such as sports or gardening
- Avoid direct contact with skin care products or perfumes to maintain lustre and prevent residue build-up on the surface and beneath stones
- Clean your jewellery with a medium-hard brush in a controlled environment, ensuring thorough drying.
- To restore shine, use a polishing cloth or a soft cotton cloth
- More extensive cleaning will require consulting your jeweller
- Over time, precious metals may show natural signs of wear due to their inherent properties, such as hardness and density
- Gold, despite its durability, is susceptible to mechanical damage, as are all metals
- Precious gemstones may be prone to chipping or cracking from external conditions
Nano Ceramic Coated Jewellery
To preserve and maintain the best possible condition of your e-coated jewellery, it is best to follow the general care practices mentioned above. Like all surfaces applied to precious metals, nano ceramic coating is more susceptible to damage and, therefore, requires more careful handling.
Wear&tear
Nano ceramic coatings are fairly durable and resistant to mechanical damage. However, the most common issue with coloured coatings are micro scratches on the surface. Despite that Agata Karwowska predominantly colours textured planes that naturally conceal signs of wear and tear, some micro scratches will be more visible on these areas. Major coating damages can be prevented by avoiding any contact of the surface with sharp objects, including other pieces of jewellery. Agata Karwowska does not advise stacking coated pieces, nor wearing them in the direct proximity with other jewellery where perpetual friction will cause tearing off the coating.
Cleaning Instructions
With all caution, nano ceramic coated jewellery should not be exposed to chemicals other than common household soap. Some chemicals, even those contained in jewellery cleaning solutions, may cause an unexpected chemical reaction.
The best and safest way of cleaning e-coated jewellery is removing debris with moist sponge or soft cloth. For less accessible areas or more complex textures, use a very soft cleaning brush, soap and water.
Safety measures
Under any circumstances do not expose e-coated surfaces to the open flame or high temperatures. Nano ceramic cures in 130 degrees Celsius, above which point, it starts to burn out producing hazardous fumes.
If your jewellery shows signs of damage or if you are concerned about its condition, contact your jeweller to prevent further issues.
